Important Customer Receiving Instructions
Reliable trucking (freight) companies have been
selected by Watertech to deliver each new Whirlpool Bath. Watertech
packages each bath individually to ensure safe delivery to each
customer. The freight carrier will notify customer and schedule a
delivery time after the bath leaves our manufacturing facility. Call
Watertech if you have any questions (i.e. price, product, technical,
shipping etc.)
Phone 1-800-289-8827, Fax:

The following steps should be followed when receiving a whirlpool bath from the
trucking company to eliminate any questions on who is responsible
for any visible or concealed damage that might have occurred in
shipping. While damage is rare, things do happen, occasionally.
Examine the shipping container (box) for signs
of damage or mishandling, i.e. staples pulled loose, flap unglued,
punctures to the box, severe indentations or crushed corners. If the
box is damaged then the freight delivery person and receiving person
must jointly open the box and inspect the bath for damage and note
any damage on the freight bill of lading in an effort to save
everyone time and expense if something minor is found, ( i.e. a
scratch, scuff, blemish), call Watertech at 1-800-289-8827. Minor
problems can often be taken care of by one of our local service
people saving time and expense, which ensures you won’t experience
any unnecessary delays. By signing the bill of lading the consignee
is acknowledging that they received the tub in good condition.
Concealed Damage- Federal regulations allow the
consignee 36 hours after receipt to report any damage, shortages and
to inspect for leaking even though no damage was apparent when the
consignee signed for the delivery. During this 36 hour period the
consignee must give the freight carrier written notice of concealed
damage. The consignee forfeits all rights to file a claim if the
notice is not given with in the 36 hour period. Failure to inspect
and report any concealed damage with in the 36 hour period places
full responsibility for any concealed damage on the consignee.
Document all phone calls, individuals talked
with and keep a copy of your written concealed damage request.
Again -— it’s important that consignee visually inspect the whirlpool and water test it
to ensure nothings has occurred during shipping. It’s to everyone’s
advantage for inspection and testing to take place within 36 hours
of receipt.
Inspecting and testing your new Watertech
Whirlpool Bath prior to installation is the owner or installer’s
responsibility to ensure the unit is in good condition. If any
problems are discovered do not install the tub until you have spoken
with a Watertech representative at 1-800-289-8827.
Pretest your whirlpool before placing it in
your bathroom. Each whirlpool bath goes through rigorous testing at
the factory but something may have worked loose during shipping.
Place the whirlpool in an area where water spillage will not cause
damage. Fill the tub with water above the highest jet, inspect all
the plumbing for leakage, turn on the pump and again check the
plumbing system for leakage, now that the plumping system is under
pressure Watertech is not responsible for damage that could have
been discovered, repaired or otherwise avoided by proper inspection
testing prior to installation.
If you have any question about the owner or
installers responsibilities please contact Watertech at
1-800-289-8827.
